Sitting here doing what I am best (procrastination), my mind wanders off to a place that it knows too well, “what will happen tomorrow?” It is sad that we do not know what happens next in our life, but isn't that what makes this race we call life so interesting? One seldom not worry about tomorrow, its human nature to think, "Gosh what is next?" or "I hope that tomorrow isn't like today". To get up in the morning seems like such a mission for us, even though we hope that the day will be better. Why are we so reluctant to just stop and enjoy life again? Can we blame information overload, culture of self entitlement or the constant need to be better at everything?
"A positive outlook on life does not happen over night" - YES WE HAVE HEARD THIS BEFORE. It requires a start and not many of us are willing to make that start are we? It's easier to just sit behind an anonymous persona and criticize everything that plays a role in your live. Negativity is a hole that’s so easy to fall in.
With the fast pace that we are going at we tend to miss all the small things that makes life beautiful and deserving of our attention. It’s screaming at us but we are too occupied with insignificant fixations.
I am the last one to criticize society about not living life to enjoy it as I seldom just forget about everything and just go out there and enjoy myself. It’s always this that needs attention or that and everybody around you suffers; you are just too busy to notice this. We all believe that we are the big fish in our pond, sadly many of us will be the only fish in the pond if we keep on letting life go by the way it’s currently doing. We are too afraid that we might miss out on something.
Let’s make a start and for once wake-up and say, “I'm going to embrace this day and live it to its fullest potential!” It’s not an easy task, it’s a daunting task! I believe that if you persevere and just breathe, take a moment and then reply to someone you will be able to defuse a potential frustrating situation easily. Yes we will still have days that we want to scream for an hour continuously but eventually we will step onto a more positive stage and enjoy life!
Give a stranger a smile and keep your smile going!
